Physical Infrastructure

Structured cabling and network infrastructure for offices and businesses

Everything the business does ultimately runs through the cables: computers, phones, cameras, Wi-Fi and servers. We design and deploy an organized, labeled and documented network infrastructure, with a network cabinet that is a pleasure to open, and with an information security perspective from the physical layer up.

Elad personally oversees every project and makes sure it runs at the highest standard, from the first site visit to handover.

The infrastructure the whole business stands on

Structured cabling is the foundation of the network: the network points in the walls, the cables running through the ceiling, the patch panels in the network cabinet and the connections to the equipment. When it is designed properly, it is invisible: everything works, every point is labeled, and every future change takes minutes. When it is built without a plan, you get a slow network, points that do not work, a network cabinet nobody dares to touch, and faults that take hours to locate. We work with Cat6 and Cat6a cabling only, and fiber where distance or links between floors and buildings require it, and design the infrastructure to fit the needs of the coming years as well.

Physical infrastructure is also part of information security. An open network cabinet, a live network point in a meeting room or lobby, or a cable nobody can trace are all ways into the business network. That is why we design the cabling together with the firewall and network segmentation: a locked cabinet, live points only where needed, separation between employees, guests, cameras and devices, and documentation that supports ISO 27001 requirements. Installation is carried out by a contractor on our behalf, under Marom Cyber's responsibility, so you have one point of contact for the whole project.

When it matters

When should you deal with cabling?

If one of these sounds familiar, it is time to plan the infrastructure.

Moving to a new office

The right time to plan network points, the cabinet and connections before the walls are closed.

A slow network and points that do not work

Dropping connections, low speeds and network points nobody knows are connected.

A network cabinet nobody touches

A tangle of unlabeled cables, equipment with no order, and every small change becomes a project.

Infrastructure that grew without planning

The office grew, points and switches were added over the years, and there is no clear picture of what connects where.

A previous contractor's unfinished work

The infrastructure was left partial, untested and undocumented, and someone needs to complete and organize it.

A standard or customer requires it

ISO 27001 or a customer requires physical security of network equipment and documentation of the network.

What's included

Network infrastructure that is planned, tested and documented

We start with a site visit, and build a plan that fits the business.

Site visit and design

Mapping workstations, rooms and equipment, and planning the number of points, cable routes and cabinet location.

Deliverable: infrastructure plan

Cabling deployment

Cat6 or Cat6a cabling to network points, and fiber between floors or buildings where needed, by a contractor on our behalf.

Deliverable: deployed infrastructure

Network cabinet and patch panels

Setting up a new cabinet or organizing an existing one: patch panels, cable management, ventilation and a proper place for equipment.

Deliverable: organized cabinet

Testing every point

Every network point is tested with a dedicated tester before handover.

Deliverable: test report

Labeling and documentation

Every point, cable and panel is labeled, and the infrastructure map is handed over to you.

Deliverable: labeled infrastructure map

Physical network security

A locked cabinet, live points only where needed, and a design that allows separation between parts of the network.

Deliverable: protected infrastructure

Connecting equipment and the network

Connection to switches, the firewall and wireless access points, coordinated with the network design.

Deliverable: active network

Power backup for equipment

Fitting a UPS to the network equipment, so a short power cut does not take the network down.

Deliverable: power-backed equipment

Fixing and upgrading existing infrastructure

Locating faults, replacing cabling, adding points and completing unfinished work.

Deliverable: organized, documented infrastructure
Process

How it works

Four stages, with a plan approved with you in advance.

1. Site visit and requirements

We come to the site and understand how the business works and what it needs today and in the future.

2. Plan and proposal

A detailed infrastructure plan and a clear proposal, approved with you before we start.

3. Installation

Our contractor deploys the cabling and sets up the cabinet, coordinated in advance with work in the office.

4. Testing and handover

We test every point, label and document, and hand over the infrastructure map.

Deliverables

What stays with you at the end

Everything belongs to you, so your IT provider can carry on from the same point.

  • An infrastructure map with every network point and connection.
  • Labeling of every point, cable and panel.
  • A test report for every network point.
  • An organized, locked network cabinet.
  • A list of the installed equipment.
  • A project summary and recommendations for the next steps.
Why Marom Cyber

Infrastructure built to information security standards, with personal oversight

Elad Elimelech, founder of Marom Cyber, brings 20 years of technology experience, most of them in management roles. In recent years he led technology strategy in information security and management at companies serving hundreds of organizations in high tech, finance and healthcare. He defined information security standards at the highest level and was the go-to authority for the most complex technology challenges across those organizations. When standard solutions were not enough, he led the solution.

Personal oversight until the project succeeds

Elad oversees every stage of the project and is responsible for the result. You have one senior point of contact for every question.

Security from the physical layer

The infrastructure is designed together with the firewall and network segmentation, so security starts with the cables and the cabinet.

A view of the whole infrastructure

Cabling, cabinet, Wi-Fi, cameras and access control are designed together, so everything works as one system.

Our contractor, our responsibility

Physical installation is carried out by a contractor on our behalf, and Marom Cyber is responsible for the whole project. No need to find a contractor separately.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about structured cabling

If anything is unclear, you can always ask us directly.

Cat6 or Cat6a?
Both suit business networks. Cat6 is enough for most offices, and Cat6a fits when you want full support for higher speeds over longer distances. We will recommend based on your needs and plans for the coming years.
Do you do fiber too?
Yes. Fiber suits links between floors, between buildings or over distances copper cable does not cover, and is designed as part of the infrastructure.
How does the work run in an active office?
The work is planned and coordinated with you in advance, and can be split into stages or partly done outside working hours, to minimize disruption.
Who carries out the installation?
Physical installation is carried out by a contractor on our behalf, under Marom Cyber's responsibility. We are responsible for the design, for connecting the infrastructure securely to the network and for the handover.
What do we get in the documentation?
An infrastructure map with every point and connection, labeling of every point and cable, and a test report for every point. That way any IT provider can understand exactly what exists.
Can you organize an existing network cabinet?
Absolutely. An existing cabinet can be organized: cable management, labeling, patch panels and ventilation, without replacing the whole infrastructure.
Why is physical infrastructure related to information security?
Because someone who can access the network cabinet or plug a computer into a live network point can sometimes reach the business network. A locked cabinet, live points only where needed and separation between parts of the network are part of the protection.
Another contractor did not finish the job. Can you complete it?
Yes. We will check what exists, complete what is missing, test every point and document everything.
How long does such work take?
It depends on the size of the office and the number of points. A small office can be done in a day, and a larger project takes a few days. After the site visit you will receive a clear timeline.
How much does it cost?
The price depends on the number of points, the type of cabling, the cabinet and the complexity of the building. After a site visit you will receive a clear proposal with a defined scope and price.
