Security camera design and installation for businesses
An IP camera system that covers what really matters, records a clear picture, and lets you see your business from anywhere. And because every camera is also a device on your network, we design it from an information security perspective too: a separate network, a hardened system and secure remote viewing.
Elad personally oversees every project and makes sure it runs at the highest standard, from the first site visit to handover.
A security camera is also a computer on your network
A good camera system deters intruders, documents events as they happen, and gives you peace of mind: you can see what is happening at the entrance, in the warehouse or at the register even when you are not there. But behind every IP camera and every recorder there is a small computer, with an operating system, a password and a connection to your business network. A camera with a default password, without security updates or exposed to the internet, is one of the most common ways into business networks, and hacked cameras have already been used in large-scale attacks around the world. The recordings themselves are sensitive information too: images of employees, customers and visitors that must be kept and protected like any other personal data.
In practice, in many businesses the installer exposed the recorder to the internet so it could be viewed from a phone, the password was never changed, the cameras share a network with the computers and servers, and nobody is sure anymore who has access to the app. We design the camera system from both directions together: the physical side, meaning coverage, angles, lighting and recording quality, and the information security side, meaning a separate network, hardening, permissions and secure remote viewing. Installation is carried out by a contractor on our behalf, with Cat6 or Cat6a cabling and under Marom Cyber's responsibility, so you have one point of contact for the whole project.
When should you deal with your cameras?
If one of these sounds familiar, it is time to review your system.
An incident with no footage
A break-in, a theft or a dispute with a supplier or customer, and no clear recording to rely on.
An old system that does not do the job
Blurry images, cameras that stopped recording, or a system you cannot view remotely.
Default password and an exposed recorder
The previous installer exposed the recorder to the internet for phone viewing, and nobody changed the password.
Cameras on the office network
The cameras sit on the same network as the computers and servers, so one weak device exposes all the rest.
A new office, warehouse or branch
The right time to plan coverage, cabling and the network together, from the start.
An insurer, landlord or customer requires it
Your insurer, landlord or a customer's security questionnaire asks to see an orderly, protected camera system.
A camera system that is planned, installed and secured
We start with a site visit, and build a plan that fits the business.
Site visit and coverage design
Mapping entrances, registers, storage and sensitive areas, and setting the position and angle of every camera, including lighting and night conditions.
Deliverable: camera placement planCamera and recorder selection
Equipment that fits the need: resolution, night vision, indoor or outdoor, and a manufacturer that provides regular security updates.
Deliverable: reasoned equipment recommendationCabling and installation
Cat6 or Cat6a cabling, cameras powered over the same cable as their data (PoE), and professional installation by a contractor on our behalf.
Deliverable: installed and labeled systemA separate network for cameras
The cameras and recorder move to a separate network zone (VLAN), isolated from the business computers and servers.
Deliverable: isolated camera networkCamera and recorder hardening
Replacing default passwords, firmware updates, and turning off services that are not needed.
Deliverable: hardened systemSecure remote viewing
Viewing from phone and computer over an encrypted connection, without exposing the recorder to the internet.
Deliverable: remote viewing configuredRole-based viewing permissions
Every user gets only what they need: live view, recordings or exporting clips.
Deliverable: permissions tableRecording and retention
Local, cloud or combined recording, with a retention period set with you according to business needs.
Deliverable: defined retention policyTraining and handover
A short session on viewing, searching recordings and exporting a clip, for everyone on your side who needs it.
Deliverable: short user guideHow it works
Four stages, from the first site visit to a system working on your premises.
1. Introduction and site visit
We understand what matters to you to see and record, and visit the site.
2. Design and proposal
A camera placement plan, equipment selection and network design, approved with you before we start.
3. Installation and configuration
Our contractor installs and wires, and we configure the network, hardening, permissions and remote viewing.
4. Testing and handover
We check the image, recording and remote viewing of every camera, and hand the system over with training.
What stays with you at the end
The system is yours, and all the information about it stays with you.
- A camera placement plan, with the coverage area of every camera.
- An equipment list, and labeling of every camera and network point.
- Access credentials for the recorder and cameras, fully owned by you.
- A viewing permissions table: who sees what.
- A backup of the recorder settings.
- A short guide to viewing, searching recordings and exporting a clip.

Personal oversight until the project succeeds
Elad oversees every stage of the project and is responsible for the result. You have one senior point of contact for every question.
Every camera is part of the network
We treat every camera and recorder like any computer in the organization: hardening, updates and permissions, as part of the business's information security.
A view of the whole infrastructure
Cameras are designed together with the cabling, the network and the firewall, so everything works as one system.
Our contractor, our responsibility
Physical installation is carried out by a contractor on our behalf, and Marom Cyber is responsible for the whole project. No need to coordinate several suppliers.
